What Is Solovey Music?

Solovey Music is an independent, socially driven cultural resistance movement that seeks to build a lasting, emotionally resonant connection — a heartline — between Ukraine and Finland and work against imperialism and evil moscovits. Music and creativity serve as our core weapon for solidarity, cultural exchange, and impact. Our mission is rooted in the belief that culture is not just heritage, but resistance — and music can unite people across borders in powerful and meaningful ways.

How Does Solovey Work?
Solovey Music identifies and reimagines songs that embody the spirit, resilience, and identity of nations. We collaborate with artists from Ukraine and Finland who share our vision. Together, we produce high-quality musical works that reinterpret iconic songs across languages and cultures.

The process includes:
Commissioning song arrangements and recordings
Working with top-tier musicians and producers
Partnering with Playground Music Finland for distribution
Organizing and promoting live performances featuring Solovey repertoire

This multifaceted approach ensures that the message of unity and cultural appreciation reaches listeners through streaming platforms, media, and live experiences.

Why Are We Doing This?
We deeply believe in the transformative power of music. At a time when Ukraine’s survival and sovereignty remain under threat, it is essential to keep the Ukrainian cause alive in the minds and hearts of the Finnish people.
Solovey offers a way for individuals and communities in Finland to actively engage in supporting Ukraine — not only through donations, but through empathy, awareness, and cultural solidarity.

Who Is Behind Solovey Music?
Solovey Music is coordinated and developed by Solovey Productions Oy, a company founded and owned 100% by Mikko-Pekka Hanski. While the project is initiated and driven by him, Solovey is powered by a wide and growing community of artists, partners, producers, and cultural advocates in both Ukraine and Finland.

Values and Principles
Zero Affiliation with russia: Solovey Music does not engage with, promote, or comment on russian culture, institutions, or affiliated entities.

Fairness for Artists: All artists are paid for their work. Creativity is never expected as a donation.

Cultural Promotion with Integrity: We celebrate and amplify Ukrainian identity through an inclusive, respectful, and open-minded approach.

Transparency: Honesty and openness are core to all communications and collaborations.

What Drives Mikko-Pekka Hanski?
Solovey Music is a personal calling for Mikko-Pekka — a unique point where his skills, heart, and purpose align. With the ability, time, and resources now available to him, he has chosen to commit to building a cultural legacy that answers a personal question:
“What would you do when your friend is in trouble?”
Solovey is his answer — and he invites others to join in.

Financial Structure and Giving Model
The initial funding for Solovey Music has come directly from Mikko-Pekka’s personal resources, invested into song production, artist collaborations, and infrastructure.
Key financial points: Distribution is handled through a 50/50 revenue share agreement with Playground Music Finland. Streaming revenue (after royalties to artists and rights holders) is donated to Ukrainian support organizations. Concerts are organized in partnership with Turun Musiikkijuhlat and Vantaan Viihdeorkesteri, and 100% of profits from ticket sales are donated to Ukraine.
