SONGS THAT CARRY SOULS
Every song in Solovey carries a story. Not just melody or lyrics — but identity, memory, and defiance.
These tracks weren’t chosen by algorithms. They were chosen by people who lived them.
By Ukrainians who said: “This is who we are.”
MUSIC THAT MEANS SOMETHING
These songs aren’t random — they’re sacred.
Each one has weight. Each one has witnessed something.
Some were sung in hiding. Others shouted on protest lines. Some whispered across borders in exile.
Solovey isn’t just a playlist. It’s a living archive of emotional truth — built by the artists who know how to carry it.
IN THE MAKING
The songs now move into the next phase: experimentation, transformation, and rebirth.
Led by Finnish and Ukrainian artists, each track is being reimagined with respect, risk, and heart.
Червона рута – Chervona Ruta
Iconic 1969 Ukrainian song, sung on streets and stages alike, layered with meaning after the composer’s tragic fate. Midsummer flowers hold a special place in both Ukrainian and Finnish heritage.
Ой у лузі червона калина – Oy luzi chervona Kalyna
Symbol of Ukraine’s fight for freedom, with its melody dating back to the 18th century. Sung by children and cellists alike, from churches to frontlines.
Oбійми – Obijmy
Beloved ballad by Okean Elzy, streamed over 64 million times, telling a bittersweet love story at a train station farewell. The Finnish version shifts to the joy of reunion.
Реве та стогне Дніпр широкий – Reve ta stogne Dnipro shyrokyi
Powerful hymn to Ukraine’s Dnipro River, composed by Taras Shevchenko. The Finnish version “Kristallivirta” offers a spiritual reflection.
Lintu
Soaring, soul-stirring ballad about freedom, grief, and rebirth. With poetic lyrics and haunting orchestration, it captures the moment a caged spirit finds its wings. A song for those learning to fly again — even after loss.
Solut herää eloon
Emotional anthem about awakening — body, soul, and memory. With every beat, it speaks of transformation and the return of life after numbness. It’s a song where healing begins at the cellular level.
